Garyís Guide Service is a family run business with Gary and Karen Tourtillotte and their son Aaron running the operation. Our outfitting business started 11 years ago when Gary decided to get his guides license in order to guide some fisherman and make a few extra dollars. He soon had a couple of black bear hunters and now has had hunters from 25 states and put 4 monster Maine black bear in the Record Books. He has also had the Vermont Sporting Journal, Bear Hunting Magazine as well a Pennsylvania Trophy magazine publish stories on the business. It has been a labor of love for the Tourtillotte family and they would like to welcome you into their hunting family as well.

Gary Tourtillotte - Master Maine Guide: Gary belongs to the National Rifle Association, the Maine Professional Guides Association, the Sportsmanís Alliance of Maine and the National Wild Turkey Federation. Gary has a bachelorís degree in Education from the University of Maine. He is an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer (yes. a golfer). You may even see him hitting a few golf balls in the river shortly after the sun comes up just to keep his swing in form during the hunting season. He has lived in this area his whole life and knows it well. Gary will work as hard as anyone you have ever hunted with to help you harvest your Maine black bear or moose. Gary's experience and love for the outdoors allows him to stand out among other Maine black bear guides.

Aaron Tourtillotte - Registered Maine Guide: In past years Aaron has guided hunters in Montana and Idaho for Elk and Mule Deer. He has worked at Garyís Guide Service with his Dad since itís beginning in 1997. Aaron is an avid hunter and has shot every mammal in Maine with a .44 Magnum with iron sights. He has shot the #31 Bull Moose of all time in Maine that scored 201 7/8 Boone and Crockett. He also has a 156 inch whitetail in the Maine record book. He is the local whitetail deer authority according to his friends. You will enjoy having Aaron for your guide because he has the same work ethic as his Mom and Dad have and he likes to have fun at the same time. In 2009, Aaron shot a nice 228 pound black bear with his Mathews bow as well as a nice 8 point buck in Missouri at 72 yards.

Karen Tourtillotte - Assistant Guide: Karen is the wife and mother of Gary and Aaron and she is an integral part of Gary's Guide Service. There are so many details that must be attended to during a week of hunting it would be impossible to get them all done if it were not for Karen. She could be on her own bait run at 6:00 AM, running errands at Wal-Mart at noon and tracking a blood trail at 9:00 PM. She will certainly make your visit at Garyís Guide Service a pleasant one.

We are committed to our hunters and cannot be completely satisfied unless our hunters are as well.  Contact us today and let us show you why we stand out among other Maine Black Bear Guides.
