Gary’s Guide Service offers guided Maine black
bear and Maine moose hunts. We are located in the Howland-Lincoln area of
central Maine, situated halfway between beautiful
Acadia National Park on the scenic, rugged coast of Maine, near
the beautiful popular town of Bar Harbor, and Baxter State Park
to the North, home to spectacular Mount Katahdin, the Northern
end of the Appalachian Trail.
In addition to our moose and bear hunting, we also offer some great
fishing. The Penobscot River runs past our Riverside Cabins and is known
worldwide for its small mouth bass fishing. Great numbers of
fish can be caught daily and that includes fish in the 3-5 lb
range. There are also 15 lakes within 20
minutes of our cabins should you bring your own boat and want to
try fishing elsewhere.
Our goal at Gary’s Guide Service is simple--to provide you
with the best bear hunt trip possible. We will do all
we can to make sure your hunt is safe, successful and fun.
Everyone here usually make friendships that go on way past the
week of hunting. Sitting around the riverside campfire
exchanging hunting stories after a great day of hunting is hard
to beat. |

The accommodations for your moose or black bear hunting
trips will be in our Penobscot River
cabins located on the bank of the Penobscot River in Lincoln, Maine. Your
hunting cabin has electricity, showers, gas grill, and a deck with a
Easterly view of the Penobscot River with beautiful
sunrises over the water. The town of Lincoln is only a few miles away so any supplies or services you need once you arrive will be available nearby.
We will also provide you with a hand designed map of the
area showing you area businesses, should you need their
services while you are here. During your Maine
black bear hunt you will have free time in the mornings so it is a great time to take a canoe or motor boat ride on the Penobscot River to fish or just try to spot a Bald Eagle or some of the other critters that live nearby. You are welcome to bring your own boat if you like. We are located 50 miles north of Bangor International Airport and we can provide shuttle services for your hunting party for
$100 per round trip or you can rent a vehicle at the airport. |

If you are interested in a trophy Maine black
bear or moose hunting trip,
we would like you to be our guest. Gary's Guide Service only takes 8 guided black bear hunters per week to help maintain our relaxed atmosphere and to insure you receive the attention you
deserve. All hunts require a $500 deposit and full payment is required
30 days prior to your arrival or your hunt and deposit are forfeited. Our policy has not always been this strict but thanks to an unacceptable number of no shows
in the last couple of years, we have no choice. Deposits
are non-refundable but transferrable in the same year.
